Welcome to the remains of PDA.se :)

PDA.se was a web site dedicated to the patent ductus arteriosus (”PDA”, ”the duct”, ”the open duct”), a hemodynamic problem commonly seen in very preterm infants. As a neonatologist interested in cardiovascular problems in the newborn baby, I wanted to build a knowledge resource site for health professionals.

Many parents to preterm infants browse the web for health information, and I also wanted to share my expertise on PDA problems to parents. So, I published a parents’ information leaflet on PDA.se, which was also translated into several languages (see acknowledgements below).

Due to lack of time, I decided to close the site in 2008, but I wanted to keep the parents’ information online. Which you find here on the new domain ”Neonatology for parents”.

The information is still valid, but you should regard the contents as general health information. I cannot take responsibility for care of individual patients outside my own workplace. If you have specific questions regarding care of a preterm infant, please ask the staff caring for the infant.

If you found the health information valuable, please consider to make a donation. All contributions go to 99nicu.org, the international web community for neonatal staff that I founded with colleagues in 2006.
